Unfortunately for fantasy owners trying to get into the playoffs, Tom Brady laid an egg in Week 13. He has been great all season, but when it counted, he struggled. He'll be without his tight end, Rob Gronkowski, in Week 14, although the matchup is favorable. The Patriots face the Miami Dolphins, who they just faced in Week 12 as well (Brady threw for four touchdowns in the first meeting). He's still the No. 1-ranked quarterback for Week 14.
It's hard to try to play the matchups in a lose-and-you're-out game. However, for some fantasy owners who lost their quarterback, that is exactly what they are doing. Josh McCown has been seemingly matchup-proof. He's scored double-digit fantasy points in every week since Week 4. He faces the Denver Broncos, which used to be a scary matchup, but over the past five weeks, they have allowed opposing quarterbacks to score more than 30 fantasy points in two of those games.
