After Deshaun Watson tore his ACL in practice on Thursday, fantasy owners were in a bind. The promising, potential rookie of the year that was leading fantasy teams to the playoffs was now out for the rest of the season. His replacement, Tom Savage, is not a recommended fantasy option for Week 9.
In Watson’s absence, Russell Wilson takes the top spot in the Week 9 quarterback rankings. After his 452-yard, four-touchdown performance in Week 8, Wilson faces the Redskins. While Dak Prescott struggled, Carson Wentz had a lot of success in Week 7 against Washington. Wilson should have a solid day.
Similar to Week 8, Week 9 will be tough with six teams on a bye again. With the Kelvin Benjamin trade that occurred this week, Cam Newton's value has gone down a bit. Tyrod Taylor's value rises, although that rise will take effect in coming weeks, not Week 9.
Teams on bye: Chicago, Cleveland, Los Angeles Chargers, Minnesota, New England, Pittsburgh
