Rams Coach Sean McVay Addresses The Odell Beckham Jr. Tweets This Wednesday

Odell Beckham Jr. still isn't on a roster as he continues to recover from a torn ACL suffered during Super Bowl LVI.

But that hasn't stopped him from being making headlines Wednesday.

Beckham seemed to suggest on Twitter that he's unlikely to return to the Los Angeles Rams this season due to the Rams making him "the lowest of low" offers. However, speaking to reporters Wednesday afternoon, Rams coach Sean McVay indicated that negotiations between Beckham and the Rams are far from over.

"A reporter asked Sean McVay about OBJ's tweets today and McVay indicated that it's a long process, and that it's not likely that the Rams' initial offer is their final one," Jordan Rodrigue tweeted.

McVay did not dispute that the Rams reached out to Beckham, a free agent. Instead, he said that the offer that has apparently irked Beckham isn't necessarily the team's final one.

Beckham joined the Rams midway through the 2021 season and helped lead the franchise to its second Super Bowl win. In 12 games with the Rams, (including the playoffs) he caught 48 passes for 593 yards and seven touchdowns.

Reports have indicated that Beckham is targeting a November return to the field. Several teams have reportedly expressed interest in adding the former Pro Bowl receiver, including the Bills and Patriots.

Beckham suggested on Twitter that he would prefer to rejoin the Rams, but not at their current offer.

Given McVay's comments, it looks like there's still hope for the two sides to come to an agreement.

The Rams could certainly use Beckham. The defending champs currently rank 26th in the NFL in total offense and 29th in scoring.
