For the second week in a row, the Chicago Bears are trading away one of their top defensive players.
According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, the Bears are sending linebacker Roquan Smith to the Baltimore Ravens.
The Ravens will send the Bears 2023 draft picks in the second and fifth rounds in exchange for Smith.

Smith leads the NFL in tackles with 83 through eight games. The No. 8 overall pick in 2018 also has four tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks this season.
Smith is in the final season of his rookie contract and will become a free agent after this year.
Smith is the second star the Bears have traded away from their defense prior to the NFL's Nov. 1 trade deadline. Last week, Chicago sent pass-rusher Robert Quinn to the Philadelphia Eagles. Upon hearing the news of the trade, Smith became emotional during a press conference.
Smith will join a Ravens defense that tried to land former Seattle Seahawks star Bobby Wagner during free agency but ultimately saw him sign with the Los Angeles Rams, instead. Wagner happens to be the only player in the NFL with more tackles over the past five seasons than Smith.
