Russell Wilson Has Brutally Honest Admission On His Performance vs. The Colts

Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson

Russell Wilson is off to a nightmarish start to the 2022 season in Denver.

The Broncos quarterback was awful on Thursday night vs. the Colts. He didn't even see a wide-open K.J. Hamler on fourth-and-goal in overtime.

Wilson finished the game with 274 yards passing, no touchdowns and two picks. The Broncos fell to the Colts 12-9 in overtime.

Wilson reacted to his performance after the game and was brutally honest about his play.

“It’s very simple,” Wilson said, via Pro Football Talk. “I’ve got to be better. I’ve got to play better. . . . Throwing two interceptions can’t happen. I let the team down tonight.”

He's absolutely right. Russell Wilson is playing like a below-average quarterback right now.

Somehow, the Broncos' record doesn't exactly indicate how this team is performing as of late. They are 2-3 on the year and still within striking distance of the AFC West. However, the record may be deceiving.

Wilson has clearly lost a step and it's shaping up to be a long season out in Denver.
