The New Orleans Saints are bringing back a familiar face. The NFC South franchise is signing free-agent veteran linebacker Kiko Alonso, according to a report.
Alonso, 31, spent the 2019 season with the Saints. He totaled 31 tackles in 13 games that year. He's also spent time with the Bills, Eagles and Dolphins.
"Source: Linebacker Kiko Alonso is signing with the #Saints. Reunion for Alonso, who played with New Orleans in 2019," said NFL insider Jeremy Fowler.
The Saints got a close look at Alonso during a workout this Thursday morning and clearly like what they saw.
"Reunion: Former #Saints LB Kiko Alonso worked out for New Orleans this morning and is expected to sign, source said. He hasn’t played since 2019, but is in shape and the Saints will take a shot given his familiarity," said Ian Rapoport.
