The New Orleans Saints learned this Tuesday that one of their wide receivers will be forced to miss the first six games of the 2022 season. That player is second-year wide receiver Kawaan Baker.

The NFL announced on Tuesday that Baker is being suspended for the first six games of the 2022 season. The 2021 seventh-round draft pick violated the NFL policy on performance-enhancing substances.

Kawaan Baker is still eligible to practice and play in all preseason games. He can return when the Saints' active roster on Oct. 17 ahead of Week 7.

"Kawaan Baker of the New Orleans Saints has been suspended without pay for the first six games of the 2022 regular season for violating the NFL policy on performance-enhancing substances. Baker is eligible to participate in all preseason practices and games. He will be allowed to return to the Saints' active roster Monday, Oct. 17, following the team's Week 6 game vs. Cincinnati," an NFL spokesperson said.

A disappointing development for Baker and the Saints. He'll no doubt try and make the most of the preseason before his suspension begins in Week 1.
