Sean Payton Has 1 ‘Promise’ For Robert Saleh, Jets
Sean Payton this Friday has admitted he took things too far after offering some pretty harsh comments on the Broncos, Jets and ex-Denver head coach Nathaniel Hackett yesterday.
While speaking with the media this afternoon, Payton said he "had one of [his] moments where [he] still had [his] FOX hat on," also sharing that he "needed a little bit more filter."
He then went on to address Jets coach Robert Saleh, who fired back at the Broncos skipper Thursday after Payton suggested the New York franchise was trying to "win the offseason."
Payton said today he wants to reach out, but at the right time.
"I think the world of Robert," Payton said. "I know him. I don’t know Nathaniel. But at the right time."
"...I’ll handle it the right way."
Saleh took the high road when addressing Payton's comments Thursday, grouping the Broncos' skipper in with the rest of so-called "Jets Haters."
"If you ain't got no haters, you ain't popping," Saleh said. "So hate away."
In case you haven't heard by now, Payton's Broncos will square off with Saleh's Jets in Week 5 this coming NFL season.
We're not sure if we can wait the 72 days.
