Seahawks Without RB Walker III in Rematch Against Cardinals

The Seattle Seahawks (7-5, 2-2 NFC West) face the Arizona Cardinals (6-6, 2-1) Sunday in Glendale with heavy playoff implications on the line for both teams.

At the conclusion of the Seattle Seahawks' second game in three weeks Sunday afternoon against the Arizona Cardinals, one team wil have over a 70 percent chance to make the playoffs and have control of the NFC West with four games remaining in the regular season.

This time on the road at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, first-year coach Mike Macdonald will be without starting running back Kenneth Walker III (calf), who was downgraded Saturday by the team, meaning second-year backup Zach Charbonnet will have to carry the load on the ground for the Seahawks in the desert.

In Seattle's 16-6 victory over Arizona at Lumen Field on Nov. 24, the former Michigan State product ran for 41 yards on 16 carries while his backup Charbonnet added 22 yards on 6 carries. Neither found the end zone that afternoon, but both have a rushing touchdown in one of the last three games against the San Francisco 49ers and New York Jets coming into the Week 14 matchup.

The Cardinals haven't allowed a rushing touchdown since Oct. 27 against the Miami Dolphins on the road in Week 8 and haven't given up a score on the ground at home since Week 4 against the Washington Commanders, a 42-14 defeat for Arizona, which indicates a Seahawks victory likely will have to come via the right shoulder of quarterback Geno Smith.
