Here's everything you need to know about Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders heading into the 2025 draft:
Vitals
Height: 6-2
Weight: 215
Age: 22
Strengths
A cool, calm presence in the pocket, Sanders is unflappable in the face of pressure, keeping his eyes downfield and maximizing his opportunities to find receivers regardless of what’s happening in the trenches. He’s got adequate arm strength to all levels of the field, and enough functional mobility to escape free rushers, extend plays when the pocket breaks down, or pick up a handful of yards if the defense allows him space underneath. He’s willing to challenge opposing defenses with deep balls and tight-window throws, and isn’t afraid to take chances when it comes to giving his playmakers a chance to go up and get the ball.
Weaknesses
Sanders is above-average in just about every area of his game, but there’s no specific trait that jumps off the film as a trump card. He has a tendency to hold onto the ball too long, drifting around behind the line of scrimmage and waiting for a big play to open up down the field, often passing up check-downs and creating too many of his own sacks by not getting rid of the ball. His consistency with regards to ball placement, accuracy and decision-making needs improvement across the board.

Final Analysis
While he doesn’t have the elite arm talent or athleticism you’d like to see from a potential franchise passer, Sanders has a strong enough blend of mental and physical traits that give him solid upside as an NFL signal-caller. If he can be more consistent as a passer, speed up his pocket clock, and take more layups, he should quickly develop into a high-floor starter with star upside if he’s paired with a strong supporting cast.
