The Pittsburgh Steelers have released their first depth chart of the preseason. Mitch Trubisky, as expected, is currently the team's starting quarterback.
First-round pick and former Pitt star Kenny Pickett, meanwhile, begins at the No. 3 spot on the team's quarterback depth chart. The experienced Mason Rudolph is currently the team's backup.
Pickett isn't expected to contribute much for the Steelers this upcoming season. He can study from the sideline while Trubisky likely runs the show. It's also an advantage to have a veteran in Rudolph in case Trubisky goes down.
Here's a look at Steelers' QB1:
"And here’s QB1 on the Steelers’ initial depth chart. Mitch Trubisky speaks on another successful 2-minute drill at today’s practice, along with his growing connection with rookie WR Calvin Austin that led to a pair of impressive TDs during team drills," said Steve Rotstein.
Another interesting development on the Steelers' first depth chart of the season is that rookie wide receiver George Pickens is listed as a starter; a testament to his talent and hard work so far in training camp.
The Steelers begin the preseason this Saturday vs. the Seattle Seahawks.
