Tampa Bay Buccaneers Defensive Tackle Expected To Be 'Sidelined' 1 Month With Injury

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense will not be at full strength for the next few weeks of the 2022 season. Veteran defensive tackle Akiem Hicks has suffered a foot injury. He is going to miss the next month or so.

Hick tore the plantar fascia in his foot. The injury requires at least a month of rest. It also gets complicated for players of Hicks' age and size. Hopefully he can make a full recovery.

The Bucs, in the meantime, will have to adjust accordingly. It's entirely possible Tampa Bay looks to the free-agent market. Ndamukong Suh is available.

"Bucs’ DT Akiem Hicks tore the plantar fascia in his foot and is now expected to be sidelined a month, per source," said Adam Schefter.

Akiem Hicks' health and recovery is going to be a big storyline in Tampa over the next month or so. The Bucs can't afford to lose a player of his caliber.

The NFC South franchise, meanwhile, plays the Green Bay Packers on Sunday.
