Todd Bowles Reacts To The Tom Brady, Gisele Divorce News

Bucs coach Todd Bowles

It's been a rough week for Tom Brady.

The superstar quarterback has lost two games in the past five days. And Friday, he officially announced that he and Gisele Bundchen, his wife of 13 years, have filed for divorce.

His head coach, Todd Bowles, expressed sympathy for Brady while speaking to reporters Friday — and not just because one of the most famous power couples in America is no more.

Bowles said that even people with the status and wealth of Brady and Bundchen can't escape the type of real-life struggles that all people deal with.

"This is not a new or a different type of deal for a lot of people in the world," Bowles said, according to Greg Auman of the Athletic. "It's life. You're going to have this, whether you're a billionaire or whether you're broke. You're going to have ups and downs, deaths in the family, hard times."

Brady, for his part, noted that divorce is not a unique challenge to him in the one public statement he's made about the split between he and Gisele.

"Doing so is, of course, painful and difficult, like it is for many people who go through the same thing every day around the world," Brady wrote in an Instagram post.

Hopefully everyone involved in the Brady family is able to navigate through this time and find happiness on the other side.
