Top 5 Games for NFL's Week 13 Schedule

An AFC Championship Game rematch and a student vs. teacher coaching matchup highlight one of the strongest slates of the season.

It's no exaggeration to say that Week 13 of the 2022 NFL season is one of the best slates of the year. After Week 12 only had three games between teams with winning records, this week provides six, despite two teams being on bye.

The strength of this week is plainly obvious by how many interesting games couldn't even crack the top five. If you're looking for storylines, Deshaun Watson returning to face his former team is atop the list, although the game itself likely won't be very interesting.

If you're looking for a chaotic game that could go any direction, Chargers-Raiders is the one for you. The Jets and Vikings are a combined 16-6 and coming off exciting victories. Plus, the Saints and Buccaneers will meet on "Monday Night Football" and these NFC South rivals always have entertaining games in the Tom Brady era.

Still, none of those games compare to the five best ones on tap this week. Without further ado, let's dive in.

Top 5 Games of Week 13

5. Commanders vs. Giants, Sunday at 1 p.m.

Few expected these teams to make the playoffs at the start of the season, but with seven wins apiece, they're both within striking distance. But this game will be absolutely pivotal to their chances. According to FiveThirtyEight's projections, Washington's playoff odds rise from 66 to 88 percent with a win but would drop to 44 percent with a loss. New York can increase its odds from 49 to 72 with a win or drop to 26 percent with a loss. It's hard to have bigger stakes in a game with six more weeks to go.

4. Titans vs. Eagles, Sunday at 1 p.m.

Tennessee is coming off a tough home loss to the Bengals but has a chance to redeem itself against another playoff-caliber team this week. The Titans will be facing off against their former star wide receiver A.J. Brown, who ranks ninth in the league with 831 receiving yards and tied for fourth with seven touchdowns in his first season in Philly. It's feasible that we could see these teams meet again in February.

3. Bills vs. Patriots, Thursday at 8:20 p.m.

Amazon Prime Video, live stream on fuboTV (only available in Buffalo and Boston markets)

Seemingly the only thing that has tripped the Bills up this season has been division games, as they're still looking for their first AFC East win. Coming into Foxboro will be no easy task, even if both teams are on normal rest, having just played on Thanksgiving. The road team won both regular-season games last year, although the Bills got the last laugh in a 30-point playoff blowout.

2. Dolphins vs. 49ers, Thursday at 4:05 p.m.

FOX, live stream on fuboTV (Start your free trial)

These are two of the hottest teams in the NFL; Miami has won five straight and San Francisco is on a four-game winning streak. There's an added layer of familiarity, with first-year Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel coming over from the Niners. Plus, San Francisco dealt running back Jeff Wilson Jr. to Miami at the trade deadline.

1. Chiefs vs. Bengals, Sunday at 4:25 p.m.

CBS, live stream on fuboTV (Start your free trial)

These teams last met in an AFC Championship Game for the ages in January. And they're once again peaking as they meet once again, this time at Paul Brown Stadium. It's hard to beat Patrick Mahomes vs. Joe Burrow, especially if Ja'Marr Chase returns for the defending conference champs.
