Three Playoffs Contenders Reportedly Interested In Trey Lance Before Cowboys Trade
The Trey Lance era in San Francisco ended on Friday night when the Niners sent the former No. 3 overall pick to the Dallas Cowboys for a fourth-round pick.
Apparently, the Cowboys were far from the only team that inquired about trading for the former North Dakota State quarterback.
This Saturday, The Athletic's Dianna Russini is reporting that the Bills, Ravens and Lions all showed interest in a possible trade for Lance.
"Most of the early discussions about a trade involved a 6th rounder that could get to a 5th," Russini tweeted. "In the end, the Dallas Cowboys offered the best deal."
It's interesting to note that the three non-Dallas franchises that showed interest in adding Lance already have established quarterbacks.
The Bills are set for the long haul with Josh Allen, the Ravens just signed Lamar Jackson to a massive five-year deal and the Lions appear to be sold that Jared Goff is the team's franchise QB.
At the end of the day, the best offer appeared to win out. As such, Lance is headed to Dallas.
