Troy Aikman's New Message to Patrick Mahomes Elicited the Same Reaction From NFL Fans

NFL legend Troy Aikman wasn't on the call for Sunday's Chiefs-49ers Super Bowl - but he was, like every other football fan, locked into the big game.

Aikman, who won three Super Bowl titles during his NFL career, took some time on Monday to send a congratulatory message to the back-to-back Lombardi Trophy-winning Chiefs.

"Congratulations to the Hunt family, Andy Reid, Patrick Mahomes and the entire Kansas City Chiefs organization. What an amazing run they are on!" Aikman tweeted.

Aikman's congratulatory message might not sound very noteworthy on the surface - but considering an old tweet from the former Cowboys quarterback back in 2019, NFL fans are choosing to pull receipts this Tuesday.

"What do you have to say about this?" a fan replied to Aikman with a screenshot of his viral tweet from 2019.

In case you're unaware, back in 2019, Aikman replied directly to a tweet which compared a few of his career accomplishments with that of then-second-year QB Patrick Mahomes.

That tweet is coming back to haunt Aikman with every additional Super Bowl that Mahomes and the Chiefs win.

"Mahomes reached a 100 percent. Any comment?" another fan wrote.

"Talk to me when you have 33% of his Super Bowl titles," Ryan joked.

Ouch.
