Here are this week’s picks from Athlon Sports senior editor John Gworek:

Cleveland at Cincinnati

Cleveland blew a big lead to Arizona and lost two corners to concussions in the process. Not a good time to face the unbeaten Bengals on a short week.

Gworek's Pick: Cincinnati, 30–16.

Green Bay at Carolina

The Packers could not handle Denver’s pass rush but could be catching the Panthers at a good time. Carolina’s defense looked gassed late in Monday night’s OT win.

Gworek's Pick: Green Bay, 23–20.

Washington at New England

The Redskins had a week off to bask in the glow of their big comeback over Tampa Bay … but New England is not Tampa Bay.

Gworek's Pick: New England, 34–16.

Tennessee at New Orleans

The Titans are unlikely to get the same boost Miami did from a coaching change. Tennessee’s pass defense has been good, but Drew Brees is as hot as ever.

Gworek's Pick: New Orleans, 27–13.

Miami at Buffalo

The Bills get Tyrod Taylor back for a home game against a team he beat by 27 on the road. The Dolphins are already 0–3 within the AFC East.

Gworek's Pick: Buffalo, 21–16.

St. Louis at Minnesota

Both of these teams love to run the ball and do it well. But the Rams stop the run (3.7 yards per carry allowed) much better than the Vikings (4.4)

Gworek's Pick: St. Louis, 16–10.

Jacksonville at N.Y. Jets

The Jaguars’ only two wins are against the AFC East, and their run defense has been very good (3.5 yards per carry against). The Jets don’t win if they can’t run it.

Gworek's Pick: Jacksonville, 21–17.

Oakland at Pittsburgh

This game could carry a lot of weight in the AFC Wild Card race. Oakland has already won one early start after a cross-country trip this season.

Gworek's Pick: Pittsburgh, 26–20.

N.Y. Giants at Tampa Bay

Tampa Bay won in Atlanta despite being out-gained by more than 200 yards because it forced four turnovers. But the Giants’ plus-10 turnover differential leads the NFL.

Gworek's Pick: N.Y. Giants, 30–24.

Atlanta at San Francisco

Atlanta has turned it over 12 times in its last four games and gone 2–2 since starting 4–0. San Francisco turns to Blaine Gabbert at quarterback, which is unlikely to end well.

Gworek's Pick: Atlanta, 28–13.

Denver at Indianapolis

Andrew Luck rallied the Colts into overtime at Carolina on Monday night, but the Broncos pass rush will likely be too much for Indianapolis.

Gworek's Pick: Denver, 27–21.

Philadelphia at Dallas

The Eagles seem to make every game an adventure by forcing turnovers and then often giving the ball right back. Dallas still hasn’t win without Tony Romo.

Gworek's Pick: Philadelphia, 24–16.

Chicago at San Diego

The Bears are somehow a top-10 defense in yards allowed while ranking 29th in points allowed. The Chargers have lost 4 straight, two on the game’s last play.

Gworek's Pick: San Diego, 30–26.

Week 8 Record: 9–5

Overall Record: 74–45
