1. #Winning

All she does is win. At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, Anderson won the gold medal in the inaugural Women’s Slopestyle Snowboarding event. She also recently became the winningest woman in X Games history, bagging her 15th career X Games medal in Aspen this January. Anderson made her X Games debut at 13 and will make her second Olympic appearance in PyeongChang in February.

2. Cover girl and reality TV star

No stranger to the spotlight, Anderson famously appeared in the nude on the cover of ESPN: The Magazine’s Body Issue in 2014 and competed on NBC’s “Celebrity Apprentice” in 2015.  And as one of the faces of the 2018 Winter Olympics, Anderson will be all over NBC’s coverage — and commercials. She is currently a brand ambassador for Visa, Comcast, Beats by Dr. Dre, GoPro, Audi, Monster Energy and United Airlines, to name a few.

3. Dating snowboarder Tyler Nicholson

Anderson comprises one-half of the cutest couple on the slopes. She has been dating fellow snowboarder Tyler Nicholson, a 22-year-old native of Ontario, Canada, who won a silver medal in slopestyle snowboarding — the same event in which Anderson competes — at the X Games in 2017.

4. Bought her mom an alpaca farm

As a token of appreciation, Anderson bought her mother, Lauren, an alpaca farm in Vermont. The fifth of eight children, Jamie Anderson comes from a tightknit family. She was homeschooled and began snowboarding with her older sisters when she was only nine years old. In 2007, Jamie’s older sister Joanie, then 21, won an X Games gold medal in Snowboarder X. The Andersons are the first siblings to take home gold in separate events in X Games history.

5. “Free Spirit” whose mantra is “One Love”

On her official website, Anderson describes herself as a “Professional Snowboarder / Free Spirit.” She loves meditation and yoga, often posting photos of herself on social media doing handstands and power poses. She is also into skateboarding and anything that takes place in the outdoors — be it frozen water or open seas. She crochets crystals into her beanies or wears crystal necklaces as a way to find “balance and energy” from within. While her moves are “gnarly,” Anderson is definitely “chill.”
