USA Gymnast Jade Carey to Receive Prestigious Award Following Olympic Success
Things just keep getting better for USA gymnast Jade Carey.
The 24-year-old won gold in the team final and bronze in the vault at the 2024 Paris Olympics, boosting her career Olympic medal count to three.
During the Olympic trials, Carey placed first in vault, second in the floor exercise, fourth in the all-around, sixth on balance beam and eighth on uneven bars, earning her a selection to Team USA along with Simone Biles, Jordan Chiles, Suni Lee and Hezly Rivera.
And if her Olympic success wasn’t enough, Carey is also being honored for her Olympic accolades in addition to what she’s accomplished competing at Oregon State as she’s been named the women’s Amateur Athlete of the Year by the Oregon Sports Awards.
At the 2024 NCAA Championships, Carey won three medals — two silver (all-around and floor exercise) and one bronze (balance beam) — and she also added a bronze medal at the World Championships in vault.
Carey ended the 2024 NCAA season ranked second in all-around, second in floor exercise, fourth in uneven bars, 21st in balance beam and 77th in vault.
In addition to her three Olympic medals, Carey also has seven World Championship medals (including three gold), three Pan American Championship medals (all gold) and five NCAA championship medals (four silver, one bronze).
Once the 2024 Olympics ended, Carey announced she would return to Oregon State for her senior season.
