2020 PGA Tour Schedule

A look at the year ahead in golf

The 2019-20 PGA Tour season officially began in September as part of an expanded schedule that increases the number of events while also making several accommodations for the upcoming 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.

This year's season has already produced several highlights, including Tiger Woods' record-tying 82nd career PGA Tour win at the Zozo Championship in late October. Then in December, Woods captained the United States team to a thrilling, come-from-behind victory over the International team in the Presidents Cup, which was played in Australia. Eleven of the 46 regular-season events were played from September-November with the PGA Tour taking a break in December.

The schedule resumed in January and will go through August with the FedEx Cup Playoffs. The PGA Tour will have an open week later in the summer (July 27-Aug. 2) to accommodate the Summer Games before resuming with the Wyndham Championship followed by three FedEx Cup Playoff events. Some other events also moved on the schedule because of the Olympics.

As for the four majors, this year's PGA Championship will be held at TPC Harding Park in San Francisco, with the U.S. Open returning to Winged Foot Golf Club in Mamaroneck, New York, for the sixth time; and The Open Championship (British Open) taking place at Royal St. George's Golf Club in Southern England (Sandwich, Kent) for the 15th time. Of course, the first major is the Masters Tournament at Augusta National Golf Club in early April.
