Colon Cancer Risk Factors

Lifestyle-related factors have been linked to colorectal cancer

Colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer diagnosed in both men and women in the United States, according to the American Cancer Society. It's estimated there will be 95,520 new cases of colon cancer in the United States alone in 2017.


So what are the risk facters associatied with colon cancer? They include:

• Being overweight
• Smoking
• Being over the age of 50
• Race/ethnicity
• Family history of colon cancer
