To no one’s surprise, the Philadelphia 76ers drafted Markelle Fultz with the first pick of the 2017 NBA Draft on Thursday night. Only time will tell if he will be a solid player, a Hall of Famer or an all-time bust.
The 2017 NBA Draft Lottery ping-pong balls will be bouncing behind closed doors Tuesday, May 16, with the results unveiled at 8:00 p.m. ET prior to Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals between the San Antonio Spurs and Golden State Warriors. With the top three picks in this year’s NBA Draft (Thursday, June 22) at stake — as well as franchise-altering trade scenarios triggered by the results — this year's 33rd annual NBA Draft Lottery is in many ways more important than the NBA Draft itself.
Well that was quick. Just days after opting out of a two-year contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Kevin Love has signed a five-year deal with them for $110 million. While the Cavaliers had hoped he would not have left the original deal, there seemed little belief that he was going to leave the team. Now that he’s back for 2015, the team will look to focus on resigning superstar Lebron James to a long deal as well.
