The reinvented USFL season wraps up with its Championship Game on Sunday

The reinvented USFL will determine its inaugural champion on Sunday, July 3. After 10 regular-season weeks and the semifinal round the USFL is actually completing its season, which is a big deal after recent spring football leagues (AAF in 2019, XFL in 2020) folded before reaching the postseason. As with the semifinal, this game will take place at  Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, Ohio.

Championship: Birmingham Stallions vs. Philadelphia Stars, 7:30 p.m. ET on FOX

It's no surprise to see these teams emerge as the North Division and South Division champions. They were the top two scoring teams in the USFL this season. The surprise, though, is that they've both changed quarterbacks midway through the season and haven't missed a beat. The Stallions have leaned on their rushing attack, led by running backs Bo Scarborough and CJ Marable as well as dual-threat QB J'Mar Smith. The Stars have own high-powered offense led by former FCS star Case Cookus and tight end Bug Howard. Birmingham won the lone regular-season matchup 30-17 in Week 5, and Vegas sees them as 4.5-point favorites.
