Birmingham Stallions at Philadelphia Stars, 12 p.m. ET on NBC
Birmingham is the only undefeated team left standing but it hasn't come easy for the Stallions lately. Philadelphia is 2-2 and has lost starting quarterback Bryan Scott to injury, but backup Case Cookus filled in admirably in last week's win. Defensively, the Stars have racked up the interceptions while Birmingham may lean on its running game because of its own QB issues. Can the Stars rise to the occasion and be the first to hand the Stallions an L?
Pittsburgh Maulers at Houston Gamblers, 4 p.m. ET on FOX
These two teams are a combined 1-7 thus far with Pittsburgh desperately wanting to get into the win column. The Maulers' offense needs to carry more of its own weight while Houston has had its own trouble moving the ball or stopping the opposition from doing the same. The opportunity is there for either team to put an end to an extended losing streak and set the right tone for the second half of the schedule.
