USFL Predictions: Week 5 Picks for Every Game

Athlon's experts pick every winner for every game on the Week 5 slate

As the reinvented USFL reaches the halfway point of the regular season, there's still plenty to be sorted out. There's just one undefeated team left standing and two others are right behind at 3-1. There's one team that has yet to win a game but it doesn't mean they are eliminated from the playoff chase just yet.

So what does Week 5 have in store? The action starts on Friday night with a cross-divisional matchup between the Michigan Panthers and Tampa Bay Bandits. On Saturday, it's an intriguing pairing of 3-1 teams when the New Orleans Breakers take on the New Jersey Generals, the hottest team in the league (three straight wins) outside of the undefeated Birmingham Stallions.

Then it's a double-dip on Sunday to wrap things up starting with the Stallions battling the Philadelphia Stars. The final game of Week 5 has the Pittsburgh Maulers looking to finally get into the win column against a Houston Gamblers team that has lost three in a row.

So which teams will come out on top in Week 5 of the USFL season? Athlon's own Steven Lassan (@AthlonSteven), Mark Ross (@AthlonMarkR), and Ben Weinrib (@benweinrib) predict the winners for every game each week:
