WNBA Fans React to Caitlin Clark's Bold Championship Statement

Caitlin Clark is heading into her second season as a superstar point guard for the Indiana Fever.

Clark burst onto the WNBA scene as the Fever's No. 1 overall pick in 2024, leading the franchise to its first playoff appearance since 2016. Following last year's first-round exit, Clark and the Fever have much higher expectations heading into 2025.

The Fever made several big-time moves during the offseason, adding veteran free agents DeWanna Bonner, Natasha Howard, Sophie Cunningham and re-signing All-Star guard Kelsey Mitchell.

The team also hired new head coach Stephanie White following the dismissal of Christie Sides at the conclusion of the 2024 season.

During her media day interview on Wednesday, Clark was asked to define what would make the Fever's upcoming season a success.

"A championship," Clark responded bluntly.

WNBA fans flooded social media with reactions to this bold statement from Clark.

"I would not bet against her," one fan wrote.

"She's going all the way," another said.

"I can’t wait to watch CC play basketball this summer," another added.

"Last year we were just happy to be in the playoffs, getting there was literally the goal. We're not rebuilding anymore. We're built," another wrote.

"How lucky are we to have such a good roster and so many people who wanted to be part of something bigger than themselves... We're excited," Clark said of this year's Fever team.
