Yankees Manager Makes His Opinion Of Caitlin Clark Crystal Clear

WNBA rookie Caitlin Clark was recently at Yankee Stadium, where she attended a game between the New York Yankees and Texas Rangers. Following the 9-4 loss to the Rangers, Yankees manager Aaron Boone spoke about Clark's presence in the stadium.

In the postgame press conference, Boone was asked about the Indiana Fever guard and shared high praise for the 22-year-old. Clark met Boone and team stars, including Aaron Judge, before the game.

He continuously called her impressive and even mentioned some of the guys at the Yankees facility were starstruck when they saw Clark.

"Really cool," Boone said. "She was impressive. Got to meet her in my office. ... She was pretty impressive. It was fun to see, the amount of our guys that were kind of just, starstruck being around her. Pretty cool meeting her, and she brought a good start to the day with her."

Boone showed clear respect for the young WNBA star, taking the time to give her credit despite the New York loss.

Team WNBA guard Caitlin Clark (22) warms up before the game against the USA Women's National Team at Footprint Center.

Boone has been the Yankees manager since 2018. He was a player in the MLB from 1997 to 2009, competing with the Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Indians, Florida Marlins, Washington Nationals, Houston Astros and Yankees.

While he's seen as a leader on the diamond, Boone shared some pointers on Clark.

The Fever rookie has been putting on a show in her first year in the league. She's currently averaging 17.1 points and 8.2 assists per game, leading the WNBA in assists per game.

Caitlin Clark has helped lead an incredible change, and as Boone explained, has been extremely impressive.

She participated in the most-viewed WNBA game of the last 23 years, an 88-87 loss to Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky on June 23 that drew more than 2.3 million viewers.

Clark has become one of the nation's biggest sports stars, and her influence now extends to the diamond.
