Cameron Brink Reveals Unique Pet Name for Hailey Van Lith

The friendship between Los Angeles Sparks rookie Cameron Brink and Texas Christian University (TCU) star Hailey Van Lith is rooted in a shared love for basketball and a deep mutual respect.

Both players rose to prominence in the women’s game during the same period, and their bond has only grown stronger. Even though Brink is already in the WNBA and Van Lith is still in college, they’ve managed to support each other through their basketball journeys.

On Sept. 9, Van Lith celebrated her 23rd birthday. Brink posted a picture of them together on her Instagram Story to greet the TCU guard. In the process, the Sparks center also revealed her unique pet name for Van Lith.

"Happy Birthday to my left hand, love uuu," Brink wrote in the caption.

Their closeness developed when they played together for Team USA in the 2023 FIBA 3x3 World Cup in Vienna, Austria, where they won the title.

Both were named to the 3x3 squad for the Paris Olympics, along with Atlanta Dream guard Rhyne Howard and ex-WNBA veteran Cierra Burdick.

The 22-year-old Brink, however, was forced to miss the tournament after suffering an ACL injury in June 2024. Her Sparks teammate Dearica Hamby was selected as a replacement.

Van Lith is in her final year of college eligibility and is expected to declare for the 2025 WNBA draft, where she could be reunited with Brink.
