Stephen A. Smith Shares Bold Declaration On Angel Reese
Stephen A. Smith shared his thoughts on the WNBA rookie of the year race, and he highlighted on ESPN's First Take that Friday nights matchup between Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese will play a vital role in how he views the race shaking out.
Smith stated that he thinks if Clark outplays Reese en route to a Fever victory over the Sky, then the race could become wrapped up in favor of the former Iowa star.
However, he still firmly believes that if Reese can win Friday night, she ‘absolutely" has a chance at taking home the rookie of the year award.
"Angel Reese is showing she's no joke either. I think she could win rookie of the year... Her personality fits lovely with the city of Chicago. She's going to be a very popular athlete for years to come. Smith said.
Caitlin Clark leads all rookies in points, assists, steals, free throw percentage, field goals made, and three pointers made. However, Angel Reese has set some historic numbers as a rebounder, and with double-doubles. She is the fastest player to reach 20 double-doubles in WNBA history.
The race between the two has been a key taking point since the season started, and Stephen A. Smith didn't hesitate on his opinion.
