A'ja Wilson Brought To Tears During Interview After Loss To Liberty
WNBA superstar A'ja Wilson is widely considered the best player in the league, but the Las Vegas Aces have been struggling despite the leadership of the MVP frontrunner.
The Aces walked into the 2024 season, winning back-to-back WNBA titles. They’ve hit a roadblock as of late, currently sitting with a 6-6 record and having lost three of their last four games.
Wilson and the Aces have the star power to compete with anyone. These have multiple stars that can blow up a stat sheet at any given moment, like Jackie Young, Kelsey Plum and Wilson.
Despite their loaded roster, there seems to be an issue in Las Vegas, and Wilson is taking it into her own hands to find the solution. As the leader of the Aces, she believes it's her responsibility to fight through these struggles and pilot her teammates through the storm.
"I put myself out there in the front... It's hard, it's really, really hard, and I don't even know why I'm crying. But, I love my teammates so much that I will take any hit for them. Good, bad, ugly, I'm going to go out there and I'm going to try to be the best person. I want to be the best teammate, cause that's how I get the best out of my team," said Wilson after the 90-82 loss to the New York Liberty via ESPNW.

"When it comes to wins, losses, when I tell you, I break this game down piece by piece, because I don't want to be great for you guys. I want to be great for my team," continued Wilson.
It's still very early in the season, so the Aces have a chance to head back to the drawing board and work through this slump. It seems the major issue has been on the defensive end, as they're allowing 95.3 points to opposing teams during their losing stretch.
Wilson's emotional response truly shows what winning means to the two-time MVP. The Aces have now lost the same amount of games in 2024 as they did during their 34-6 record in 2023.
She knows what this team can bring to the table, but they have fallen short, causing Wilson to show her distress with postgame tears in the press conference.
