XFL Games on TV Today

St. Louis BattleHawks at DC Defenders, 3 p.m. ET (FS1)

The BattleHawks will try and add to their lead in the XFL East standings when they face the reeling Defenders. DC has dropped two in a row, but what's more concerning is how badly the team has fared in those games, losing by a combined 55 points to teams who didn't have a win (Los Angeles and Tampa Bay) prior to their meeting. After getting off to a good start, Defenders QB Cardale Jones has struggled mightily with five interceptions in his last two games alone. On the other side, St. Louis has Jordan Ta'amu, the reigning XFL "Star of the Week" leading the way. Ta'amu is second in the league in passing (876 yards), and he's also fifth in rushing (186 yards) while accounting for six total touchdowns in his first four games.

Tampa Bay Vipers at Los Angeles Wildcats, 9 p.m. ET (ESPN)

The XFL gets the primetime spotlight on ESPN, as the Vipers and Wildcats are set to clash to close out the Week 5 slate. Both teams are 1-3 but at times have played better than their records indicate. Tampa Bay is riding high after last week's 25-0 victory over DC. The Vipers ran wild, putting up 266 rushing yards on a whopping 49 attempts (5.4 ypc). Los Angeles dropped a tough one on the road, falling 17-14 to New York last Saturday. The Wildcats have been solid on defense the last two games (26 PA allowed); they just need to find a way to sustain drives (2-for-12 on third down last week) and put more points on the board.
